Peter Routledge

Peter Routledge was appointed Superintendent of Financial Institutions in June 2021 for a seven-year term. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, where he led a transformation of the organisation’s culture, strategy and technology vision. Before that he was a Senior Advisor at the Department of Finance, advising on financial stability, housing finance and competition in Canadian financial services. He has held leadership roles across the financial sector in Canada and abroad, including managing director of research at National Bank Financial and head of the Canadian financial institutions group at Moody’s Canada.
