Innes Dey has been Senior Vice-President, Corporate Affairs at Definity since January 2026. He joined the company in November 2011, serving in various senior executive roles, including as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief Risk Officer, and was a key member of the senior management team behind the historic demutualization of our founding company, Economical, and our related IPO, and subsequent acquisitions.
With more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian P&C insurance industry, Innes is a business transformation strategist and leader of multiple functional areas, including our Legal team, our Corporate Strategy Office, and our Risk department.
Innes chairs our Sustainability Steering Committee and has been a director on the Definity Insurance Foundation since April 2021.
Innes is a corporate finance lawyer by profession, holding an LL.B. from Queen’s University and a B.Sc.(Hons) from Western University.
